About Us

Battledore Badminton Club is a welcoming group of competitive badminton players who also love to have fun! Battledore is an inclusive, competitive and friendly club, based in Chelmsford. We enjoy playing competitive badminton throughout the year. Club night is on Sundays, from 6pm to 8pm, at Dovedale Sports Centre, Vicarage Road and is played on 4-5 courts. Home Match night is on Thursdays, from 7pm to 10pm, at the same venue. Battledore fields teams in the Chelmsford league. Feather shuttles are used for both Club and Match nights. We welcome players willing to play matches and games within a friendly competitive club enviornment. We especially welcome those who are coming back to play the high standard of the game they love. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate beginners or social players.There are a range of competitive events including; an external league, with many other clubs, an internal league, singles tournament, annual doubles tournament and a teams tournament. On a regular basis there is a coaching session with a highly regarded external Level 3 coach, for those that wish to improve their technique, including advanced coaching.There is an active social dimension to the club with regular activity events arranged throughout the year, for those that wish to participate.
